Vocabulary

Based on some articles about vocabulary, I got many things about vocabulary such as the strategies to master vocabulary, classification of the vocabularies and the meaning of the vocabularies in literally and definition. So what is vocabulary? In my opinion, vocabulary is a word that has a specific meaning.

I am as a student of English Department in UIN Ar- Raniry claim that vocabulary is the important if we want to learn English as a foreign language and international language. Even, our language (bahasa) has a many vocabularies that to be a main point in communication. To  increasing vocabulary in English of course need a practice more and more. Vocabulary needs to be learned because it will not develop quickly enough through simple exposure to written or oral.

Many strategies to increase vocabulary and I suggest to use Frayer Model Strategi to increasing student or english learner vocabulary. What is Frayer Model? Check my article before in this blog.

Frayer Model. What is that?

Frayer model is one of strategies to increasing vocabulary.
This model combines four strategies in one way.
They are picture of vocabulary, definition of vocabulary,
example of vocabulary and non-example of vocabulary strategy.
This model is useful for beginner who does not understand at all
about the language that they want to learn.
Human known language by see and feel the word from the things
(verb, adjective, adverb and so on),
that is why we can understand well our mother language
because we learn by doing (see and feel the vocabulary means).
We start with understand the word not with memorizing the word.
This model supports us to learning vocabulary by four combinations of strategies. Picture bellow is the example.
